21 day FIX

What is the 21 Day Fix?
This is a lifestyle-changing health and exercise program.  The biggest thing that makes it different from other programs is that it is meant to change your habits permanently, not just long enough for you to lose a few pounds and then go right back to your previous habits of eating and exercising.  It is not an easy program but completely doable for ANYONE!!!
It is portion control and whole foods – you choose from a list of approved foods and use them to fill your daily color-coded containers.  There is a 7-day exercise program that goes along with the diet plan that you are meant to do every day (30 minutes each) and repeat 3 times for a total of 21 days. Autumn Calabrese is the personal trainer and she is AWESOME!

My Journey
When I started the program, I wasn’t completely out of shape but I wasn’t where I normally was in my fitness. I had just moved home and was trying out new workout places. The Y, Orange Theory and different Yoga studios around town. I could not commit to any of them because I didn’t love them!
I decided to do the 21-day fix program back in 2016, I had success with the workouts but did not follow the meal plan or drink shakeology, therefore I did not get the results I was hoping for! After I decided to jump in again I took the program serious and followed the workouts, meal plans and shakes!  I spent a LOT of time on Pinterest browsing meal plans and recipes- hardest part for me.
The first week was a struggle but I DID IT! I WAS SO SORE..BUT I was not going to give up on myself plus I made GOALS. I wanted to be in shape for IVF and not feel like complete crap! I am a very impatient and competitive person so the only person I was competing against was myself and I was not going to lose! Nope not happening LOL. I also had a coach who was motivating me and keeping me accountable. I don’t think I could have done it without her! I’d say I followed the meal plan about 90% of the time. I allowed myself to have a cheat meal each week but I did do my exercises each day. One cheat meal a week did not sabotage my results, if I thought they would have I wouldn't of had that cheat meal.

Each day you do a different workout
Monday- Cardio
Tuesday-Arms
Wednesday-Legs
Thursday-Pilates
Friday-Cardio Fix
Saturday-Dirty Thirty (full body)
Sunday-Yoga
Results
OK this is the good part- I wasn’t expecting to have results like I did… I lost 5lbs and 5inches and started toning up- MY BUTT WAS BACK!!!
BUT the most important thing I gained was getting my confidence back. I just felt better, happier and stronger! I made the choice to continue my Beachbody journey because of the results I was seeing and feeling. This is when I decided to become a coach. I would not promote something I didn't believe it- I highly recommend starting with this program if you are looking for a life style change. The products work and there is just no denying it! I am proof the products work.

If you need motivation to kick start your health,  message me and let me help you like my coach helped me!!!

Egg Retrieval & The 5 Day Wait

Goodbye Shots!!!!!! The trigger shot was a success. Egg Retrieval Time!! It really doesn't hurt-Promise! Incase you don't know what Egg Retrieval is.... Here’s how it works: the doctor will use an ultrasound to identify your ovaries. Your doctor will gently guide a needle attached to a catheter through the vaginal wall. One by one, the eggs will be drawn out using light suction. They’ll be collected in test tubes labeled with your name number, which will then be handed off to the embryologist—an expert in the science of oocyte cryopreservation (the technical term for egg freezing). Before you leave the office,  you will know how many eggs were retrieved and moved to the embryology lab. The doctors write the number of eggs on your hand! The next day they call to let you know how many of your eggs were able to be fertilized, they consider this day 1. They continue to update you on day 3 and 5. If you have embryos make it to day 5 they are considered good and re...

Week 2- Stimulation Phase

Night Time Routine The Fertility and IVF world call this “STIMS” This is the process where you are now stimulating your ovaries. This is how I think of it: you are taking your normal size ovaries (almond size) and growing them to the size of oranges. In a normal cycle, you produce ONE egg each month! Well thanks to stimulation you start producing WAY more than one egg, and yes you can feel it!! A lot of girls describe it as a fluttery feeling in their stomach. During the stimulation phase, you visit the doctors frequently, they do blood work and ultrasounds to check your follicles. This is important because it lets you know if your body is or isn't responding to the medications. All my needles for the week! Monday - We started injections- George is a master at this, thank gosh because I did not want to give myself shots!! I started with Gonal and Menopur, both are stimulation medications. The shots are done in the stomach and don’t hurt too bad- little sting an...

August - How IVF starts

The Beginning: First you meet with the IVF coordinator for an ART review- This meeting last about 3 hours! This is where they go into details about your schedule, medicines and procedures. OH and sign your life away and get a HUGE medical bill- The doctor came in and spoke to us, which put me at ease. I was literally shaking when we stepped foot in that office. It's scary! What scares me the most is that there's only a 50% chance of it working. LIKE WHAT THE HECK!!!!!! But I'm staying positive and believing our first cycle will be successful! I left feeling excited- the process is absolutely amazing. If I could go back in time I would be an embryologist. (not really) I imagine you have to be SUPER SMART for all that lol...I can't wait to share what his part of the process is!! ITS SO FREAKING COOL how they make a baby outside of the body, yall!! Ok so this is where I'm at now..... When you start your period you start birth control. funny how that works! I...
