August - How IVF starts

The Beginning:

First you meet with the IVF coordinator for an ART review- This meeting last about 3 hours! This is where they go into details about your schedule, medicines and procedures. OH and sign your life away and get a HUGE medical bill- The doctor came in and spoke to us, which put me at ease. I was literally shaking when we stepped foot in that office. It's scary! What scares me the most is that there's only a 50% chance of it working. LIKE WHAT THE HECK!!!!!! But I'm staying positive and believing our first cycle will be successful!

I left feeling excited- the process is absolutely amazing. If I could go back in time I would be an embryologist. (not really) I imagine you have to be SUPER SMART for all that lol...I can't wait to share what his part of the process is!! ITS SO FREAKING COOL how they make a baby outside of the body, yall!!

Ok so this is where I'm at now.....

When you start your period you start birth control. funny how that works! I've been off birth control for years, now I'm taking it to get pregnant. Interesting! I started birth control a few weeks ago and I do have some side effects. Headaches and bad cramps! Never had that in my younger years (weird).

Reason you take birth control is to shut the ovaries down. They cant be doing anything on their own! The medicine will be doing all the work.

Once you end your birth control pack- its go time!!!!

Right now I am finishing up my pack and will start Phase 2 next week! This week I will getting some blood work and ultrasounds done. I will also attend an injection class. AHHH what the heck is going to happen there. We have about 6 weeks left, I'm feeling positive and hopeful!

Stimulation Phase is next. Stay tuned!!
