What is Low AMH or Dimished Ovarian Reserve


Last year after they told me I had low AMH or diminished ovarian reserve I was like okkkkkkk what the hell is that....Obviously I had no clue what that meant and I'm sure you don't either!  I had a few people ask me "what exactly is wrong with you?!?!" So I figured I would make a blog about one of the 3 things wrong with me. For everyone who has reached out to me I really appreciate it. THANK YOU 💗

What is means.....

Basically I don't have many eggs and the ones I do have aren't very good :( You are born with a certain amount of eggs and when they're gone THEY ARE GONE. You don't produce eggs every month you lose eggs every month! YEP opposite of sperm-go figure!!! Women with my condition can get pregnant, we just don't have forever to wait. The sooner the better because we will most likely go through menopause earlier than most. I really never put this together until recently, for the past 6 months my periods have been lasting 24-48 hours. They are super short! Heck I might be close to not having them anymore. Who knows. Girl problems are confusing and always up in the air lol.

How do I know I have a Low AMH?

Doctors measure your AHM on a scale from 0-10. For my age (30) My AMH should be around 5 WELL its not.. its 1.3!!! The doctor compared my eggs to a 40 year old. I'm not saying its old and I'm not saying women can't get pregnant at 40 but its not as common. For someone who hasn't even started their family 1.3 isn't a great number to have. Also, I haven't used protection for the past 16 months-so clearly the AMH means something. I have done a lot of research on this topic and some clinics won't even do IVF if your levels are below 1.

I never knew any of this information-honestly I don't think AMH testing has been around for that long, its fairy new. If you are struggling with getting pregnant or want to start a family one day I recommend asking your doctor to do bloodwork. Its a simple test that can save a lot of headaches and heart break!!! The doctors never told me "You can't get pregnant naturally". But after finding this out and adding 16 months of not getting pregnant they told me after surgery in January I needed to take action before my levels got below 1! Sooooo many people have been told they can't get pregnant and end up pregnant a month or two later- but I really want a child of my own so I am listening to my heart and trusting the doctors by moving forward with IVF. I don't want to look back in a year and it be too late! GOSH how sad would that be!!!

Low AMH Tip- I took about 12 pills a day for 3 months to help with the quality of my eggs. Since I don't have many I need the ones I do have to be healthy. August - How IVF starts

The Beginning: First you meet with the IVF coordinator for an ART review- This meeting last about 3 hours! This is where they go into details about your schedule, medicines and procedures. OH and sign your life away and get a HUGE medical bill- The doctor came in and spoke to us, which put me at ease. I was literally shaking when we stepped foot in that office. It's scary! Why I believe in Beachbody so much!!

Ok so I know you're all thinking of course she would do a blog about Beachbody.. well yes I am and No I'm not sorry about it!!!! YES at first I thought this whole thing was a scam but it kept coming back to my life over and over again so I took the chance and here I am!
